Some of the key findings that Internal Affairs made during the scope of this project:
- Understand what IPv6 means for your agency
- Understand the options available to your agency to transition to IPv6
- Understand your Internet Service Providers IPv6 readiness
- Ensure your external Domain Name System (DNS) is IPv6 ready
- Education - ensure staff and management understand why you are doing something
- Completing the transition to IPv6 does not have to cost a lot, meaning you don’t have to convert your whole environment
- Dual Stack is the recommended approach to IPv6
